04 Oct 2014 At the car dealership (self.TalesofFatHate) submitted 23 days ago by xanaxtasy_ The dealer is huge, just enormous. Surprisingly smell free, but I'm in the back seat behind him as my mother test drives this car. The roll of fat on the back of his neck is enormous and it's oozing through the area between the seat and the head rest. But that's not even the worst part. He can't buckle himself in. Every half mile or so we're getting an alarm that he's not buckled in. Guy, you know you are going to be in cars all day, how can you let your self get so large that you can't buckle in? I watched him try and the seat belt barely got half way across his stomach. I don't get it and have been turned off to every car he's showed us. Sorry for any typos, on mobile. [there was a really fat guy working at a place, and nothing seemed too off in front of him. but when i went *behind* him, AUGH, i just about keeled over and died from the SUDDEN STENCH of moldy, rotting, sweat + dead skin in his back rolls. he could clean his front, but he didn't have a scrub stick to clean his back rolls, and they were MOLDING.] [btw, car dealerships are suspicious af, just like mattress stores... page on that someday, might need help with it. maybe a "fake businesses" topic, and a car dealership and other types of sub-entries. one of those upwards-updating pages.] ----- LESBIAN_PRINCESS I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that is illegal --- xanaxtasy_[S] You'd be correct, he talked about how he has an extender but didn't have it with him. The idea that they make such a product is mind boggling to me. --- LESBIAN_PRINCESS It's amazing how lazy people are. If you know you're going to need a fucking belt extender because you run test drives, isn't it common sense to have it with you? --- xanaxtasy_[S] You would sure think so. Not getting so large to where you'd need a product should also be common sense. [sometimes FPH would feature a catalogue of bariatric products. some disabled thin people used those products, or some had alternate uses for them.] --- OuttaSightVegemite Check out moreofmetolove.com Along with seatbelt extenders, they have leg lifters and under roll absorbent pads. It's an interesting and terrifying place. The demo videos are funny, though. [oh look, someone named it. that site sells bariatric house stuff... assuming it's still up, again, i'm going without internet until the 30m "upload fast, check email fast, run and unplug asap" time. again, wifi beams are bad for you.] --- xanaxtasy_[S] The leg lifter is terrifying to me. I am trying but can't even put into words the way that makes me feel. Limited mobility is one thing, but to have to manually life one's leg? The necessity of this product bothers me more than the seatbelt extender. After browsing their entire selection, I have to say though, that giant bean bag looks amazing. --- renob151 What's amazing is that they have started making seat belts longer, as well as heavier anchor points to handle the weight in a crash. Next time you are cleaning your car grab the seat belt and slowly and gently pull it out all the way. You will be surprised how big it actually is! And some people think it is still too small! --- madscientistEE You know, an extra 500lbs on one side of the car has a serious impact on handling and acceleration. How is one supposed to get a feel for how a car actually drives with a hambeast on board? --- [skipped some comments, but OP's mom is loyal to fat car dealer, and OP isn't happy about that.] --- xanaxtasy_[S] True that. It occurred to me that the cars he didn't get in (the ones he couldn't fit in) my mother always commented on how well they handled compared to the other ones. I don't know that she made that correlation though. --- madscientistEE OK, so I drive a certain large sedan known for its unusually good handling and road feel. (It was made from MY 99 to MY 2004 and was Car & Driver's Car of the year for 1999....that's your hint.) I also have some seriously FAT friends (welcome to the IT crowd!) and when the fattest of them sits in the car, the handling of this vehicle is noticeably impacted. The sad thing: The suspension has been rebuilt in the last few years and I have the highest performance variant yet still, the car drifts to the side he sits on and the car becomes noticeably less maneuverable. Need I remind people that this thing weighs a nip over 1.5 metric tons and is about 5 meters long? There are SUVs smaller than this thing! === rcv jan 2021
