It sounds exactly like the formula for reality TV shows where teamwork is encouraged until there's two people left, but the truth is that it's really everyone for themselves and both sabotage and treachery -- even within teams -- tend to be encouraged and rewarded. It sounds like an off-shoot of what Enron had going on. Apparently they had annual efficiency reports, and would cut loose the bottom 10% of their employees. I no doubt agree with cutting off dead weight, but they went the extra mile and regardless of what happened, if you were in the bottom 10% you were out the door. Yeah, that'd be an inspiration for competition; but with forced competition comes plotting and scheming, backstabbing, cheating, and a whole other host of problems a healthy environment shouldn't have. ===== rcvrd jan 2021
