Keekee J.: Before I added a rooster to my flock of hens, one of the hens did start to transition. She wasn't quite a year old but was probably the biggest in the flock and still layed eggs most days. She/it started crowing and rounded all the other hens up to protect them. Then it got air lifted by a red hawk. It sacrificed itself. Also, a few of the hens would dominate the other hens (yes in "that" way) Now that there's a rooster, no one has tried to transition again. So weird. ===== file from Nov 2019
