LEGO has this (discontinued?) line of toys called Toolo for small children. Basically like LEGO tech but for toddlers. When I was a kid, a friend had one of these toys. It was a pilit ina wierd spacefraft. The pilot looked wierd already. Not like a human astronaut but with wierd colours and a robotic face iirc. The wierdest thing was his spaceship however. It had a small LCD screen und several buttons. You could switch it on and it was deisgned to take in several module blocks which could change the spaceships configuration (the blocks probably had contacts in them that interacted with a mini computer in the actual ship) and the LCD display would react accordingly. The ship even had a small button in the cockpit that would automatically be depressed if you placed the pilot in there so it knew if the pilot was manning it or not. If you turned it on and did nothing with it, you could hear this odd "idle" sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61bl17FLrlE [Embed] Here's a video, you can hear it in the first 5 seconds. Now if you left that thing on during that idle state and waited for about 2 or 3 minutes, the ship would actually get radio calls or something with a SUPER creepy, low pitched voice saying something in gibberish. It had several different lines, which played seemingly at random. They freaked me and my friend the fuck out when we first heard them. We played with that toy for a bit then left if laying around turned on and did something else when suddenly the first radio message came. Some lines were several sentences, some just a single word and one sounded like a depserate scream. I wish there were recordings of these voicelines somewhere online but I doubt anyone even knows about this feature.
