    A few weeks ago I had a realisation that kinda changed me, it might sound dumb to some but it matters to me. In my house everyone is too grossed out by the food waste bin so I'm the one who deals with it. I got really sick and couldn't put anything out for a week, when I got better I went and took all the rubbish out and opened the bin and loads of flies flew out. Before I'd always seen the little flies as a nuisance but this time I realised that no one had opened the bin for a week, these flies were born in this bin, they thought it was their entire universe, it was all they knew, then I lifted the lid and showed them the universe. From their perspective they had no idea of the true magnitude of the world around them. Just like the bin flies, how are we to know that this is all there is? Any day now someone could lift the lid for us, showing us so much more, but until that day all we can comprehend is the bin we are trapped in right now.
