nov 19 2020 thurs makin a fast lazy update, so recently something just pushed me into making a site. it was soooo interesting, DOOOD that i wanted to host that material. and it's somewhere in the monthly page, so yeah. welp. it's kinda putting itself together. it takes me back. i remember in the late 90s and early 2000s, learning html, and borrowing code from here and there, as needed. just basic stuff. today internet's faster (i used to have dial up) and storage is cheaper, but i remember when it WASN'T. dial up was a horrible slow slog, and storage was super stingy. now i have 1 whooole gb to myself, but im gonna be real wise with it. just because i can, doesn't mean i should. i noticed most pages i click on, have an unironic, actually serious "under construction". i remember those days. others i think are just for nostalgia and flavor, but lemme tell you why most sites run by ordinary people are always eternally "under construction". because they get some nonsense idea about making a super fancy shiny site with 5mb of background CRAP and there's no actual content. all desires for flash (at least not literally, whew. i remember unnecessary macromedia flash...) instead of substance. as it turns out, that cool stuff i was saving but didn't have anywhere to put it, because i don't bother with forums anymore (usually the admin and mods are bad people... uh it'll take a while to explain that), and i CERTAINLY won't touch facebook with someone else's 40ft pole, but. text files. yeah i can rehost those real easy. and i love text pads anyhow. i should really diversify my content. well i just rediscovered how to make a nice little html frame, and now my site looks a smidge nicer, and that's really all i need. it's good enough and easy to update! /.
