On 11/10/1990 police were called to the recording studios at Grace Films following a distress call, but no-one knows what it was about. Probably nothing. Oviously the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Soviet Union made that kind of unworkable, but they probably just grew attached to Otto as a character, as well. Project Milhouse was an abandoned project by the CIA to selectively screen children for genius-level IQ or extreme creativity by putting sleeper agents into auditions for Hollywood movies where children were involved. Not really anything to do with The Simpsons except for the name. >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)11:01:18 No.27458252▶>>27458325 >>27458206 one more >mr smithers' father >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)11:03:31 No.27458274▶>>27458423 >>27458574 >>27458156 Little information available except that the original Some Enchanted Evening came back from the Korean animators and was all kinds of fucked up and wrong. They've only ever released a tiny bit of it which doesn't show much. But consider that this was an episode about a career criminal who poses as a babysitter and ties up children, and you can imagine how badly that could've been misinterpreted by a very different culture in Korea and how offensive and strange some of it might have ended up being before Groening ordered it to be redone with much stricter oversight. mg49 I know even less about, but as I recall it was a storyboard or script that was pitched as a short to the TU show producers and got rejected. Who knows why. Kind of like the semi-lost short where Homer meets Hitler. It never got to the stage of being animated. There is an actual recording of Castelanetta doing a read-through of the script for that one, though. >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)11:08:10 No.27458325▶ >>27458252 So in the season 13 episode 'The Blunder Years', we get a story about Smithers' dad and how he died in a radiation accident at the nuclear plant, but supposedly there are a series of hints in the earlier seasons that give a very different and even more disturbing picture of Smither's dad and what happened to him and what their relationship was like. Think along the lines of the repressed homosexual abuse archetype and what that says about Smithers' obsession with the much older Mr Burns. The actual references to Smithers' father before season 13, however, are extremely scant. To me, this one is people trying very hard to read between the lines. >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)11:19:01 No.27458423▶ >>27458274 there's actually an entirely hidden season of the simpsons that consists of cut episodes from the (early) years of the show that's set to be released upon the eventual finale. I don't have much more info but there are allusions to its existence from S10 onwards, and I'm told that a great deal of money has been spent on tidying up the episodes in keeping with the golden era style. >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)11:36:56 No.27458574▶>>27459349 >>27458274 Is "og enchanted evening caused blindness" related to it? >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)12:59:05 No.27459349▶>>27459481 >>27458574 Sorry, went away for an hour. Yeah, you remember the whole scandal in Japan where the episode of Pokemon 'Electric Soldier Porygon' caused some children to have seizures when aired? Well there's an anecdote from inside the Korean animation industry that the color pallette they were using for this early attempt at getting the Simpsons right was triggering temporary blind spots in a minority of the animators working on the project. It wasn't full-on blindness, that would be a total exaggeration, but even so it's very strange but not all that unlikely considering the very unique, oversaturated color range in the Simpsons, especially series 1. Flashing red and blue is perfect for causing seizures, black and white checkerboard patterns can cause migraines and dizziness, and, so the story goes, that bizarre lost pre-season-one episode stumbled upon some fucked up color pattern that messed with vision in some people. >> Anonymous 01/26/21(Tue)13:14:19 No.27459481▶ >>27459349 I see, thanks for the info anon.
