SPYRO CREEPYPASTA (Dave) ~ June 2019 ===== Hey guys, name's Dave and here's a little story of mine, keep in mind it's kinda of hard to bring up because it took a while to work up the courage to write it all down. Back when I was little everything that got old or that we didn't need anymore at my old house either went in the trash or in the attic depending on how valuable it was. When I was little I had a Playstation 1 with a few games. I loved it and played on it all the time, especially my favorite game for the system, Spyro the dragon. Eventually my parents decided I was wasting far too much time on video games and told me I could go on it very scarcely (10 minutes on school days and 1 hour on weekend days) I was resistent to begin with but eventually got used to it, and as a "reward" for my valiant efforts, when I was older my parents got me the Playstation 2 for Christmas. I was so exited I barely noticed that my ps1 was missing, when I asked dad where it was he said that he threw away the games but the console itself due to its sale, was in the attic. Years passed and I hadn't saw any sign of that ps1 until one day I was finally moving out of home into my new flat, my dad told me that he had packed all my clothes and general things into my bags and told me that if I wanted to take anything from the attic I was free to do so, what he meant was old furniture for the flat or something like that, but I used this as an opportunity to snoop around. I had never been in the attic even after living there all my life. I managed to find some interesting things up there, and best of all, dumped at the bottom of an old box of decorations, I found my old ps1, exactly how I left it before it got taken up there. I hid it inside my bag no idea why I hid it though, I just felt as if I didn't want someone to see me with it. After I said my final good byes to my parents and friend from the neighborhood, I finally set off to my new flat. I thought the first thing I would do when I got back was to have a go on the ps1, but then I remembered my parents chucked the games away when I got the ps2. After I unpacked I went in to town and went in to the game store. I digged through the old games pile and managed to find a copy of final fantasy 9. I'm not a big fan of that kind of thing but it seemed the only decent game. When I got back I plugged in the TV, the Playstation and got out the ff9 disc ready to play, but to my surprise when I opened the disc holder, there was still a game in there, so only the box of that game would of been thrown away. It was spyro, and it was very dusty. For some reason I felt very strange. I wanted to play spyro again so badly, I flung ff9 back in its box and it aside, immediately started up spyro and got ready to play my childhood game again. I turned it on and the title screen played its little movie like always and the menu screen was on, my original save was still there. On my save I had completed it fully, all gems, all levels, all dragons, but something was very odd. In my game I had only ever used that one save file but there were two more files I had never seen before. I assumed that my dad must of had a go on it or something. The first strange file had no dragons at all but instead had a bit of text at the bottom of it saying after it said had 0%, the second strange file had the exact same amount of dragons as my original save but it only said 99%. I only assumed some treasure had not been found. I tried to open the first strange file, but I couldn't even select it, I tried to start up my original file but I couldn't even select that either, I was basically forced to select the second strange save. This is where things go very weird, the screen didn't go along with its normal fade to black it just flashed straight to black, spyro flew across the screen left and then right as he always does but for some reason he was facing in a way that you couldn't see any of his face. As he flew across the screen right the text on screen read "...you came back...". This felt chilling, the text stayed on screen for a while, I thought that it had froze, but as I got up to reset the system, the screen flashed to black again and after a few seconds it warped me to the artisans home world. It was different from how I remembered though, there was no music at all, there were no enemies, not even any enemies like the sheep that give some butterflies. All the portals were decrepit and broken, the stone broken and it seemed that they couldn't be accessed. I moved forward and tried to charge, spyro couldn't charge. There I was at the area where you would normally find the first dragon, but the dragon wasn't there and the platform it would normally stand on was missing, the grass in its place was raised slightly as if it had grown over the podium itself. I was shivering in my seat at this point but I tried to carry on. I nervously continued to explore the home world. The maze leading to dark hollow was overgrown and unenterable, the tunnel leading to the town square portal appeared to be completely caved in, the dragons head that contained toastys portal was closed and wasn't smoking at the nostrils as it normally does. The only place I could go was the balloonists area. I hoped that the balloonist would be there at least. When I got there I almost didn't want to turn the corner to the balloonists post, but when I did I sickened by what I saw, the balloonist was lying face down on the floor. I couldn't see very much of him but he wasn't moving, as I tried to approach him the menu suddenly popped up and read "you left". I didn't want to look at it any more, so I immediately closed it, and when I did the balloonist immediately disappeared and was replaced by a piece of very old looking brown paper. I walked up to it, nothing happened. It looked like it had something written on it but the words were a bit too small to read. I used spyros look around feature to view the words. Finally I could read them, the note read "goodbye. use my balloon...once." Even though I wanted to play more, I was to freaked out to play anymore. I opened the top of the ps1 and took out the disk. The next thing I saw terrified me. The screen flashed a bright blood red tone still fixed on where I was last in the game, and a loud screeching noise came through the TV. It wasn't a pleasant sound, it sounded as if it was mixed with screams at random intervals, words flashed and violently littered on the screen reading "PLEASE REINSERT DISK 1" This continued and didn't cease. The volume control wouldn't silence the screeches and they felt like they were getting louder. I decided to put the disk back in and it stopped finally, the screen restarted on a paused screen and I was where I was before. There was only one option on the menu, it was "exit". I selected it and I was back in front of the balloon. After what the note said I tried to jump on the balloon, I successfully got on and a menu came up reading "leaving*" there were two options, yes, and no. I selected no and the balloon set off into the sky. About halfway through the flight I noticed that some music was fading in slowly, it sounded was toastys theme, but it was slower, and in a much lower tone and I could hear a deep quiet moaning in the background. The music made me feel sick to my stomach, I had no idea where the balloon was heading. At last it landed and the balloon floated off. I was in a room with one un freezed dragon in the middle of the room, the walls of the wall looked very old and decrepit, I decided to free the dragon. The breaking animation played and it broke free. The dragon emerged and started to move. It sent shivers down my neck, the dragon was very disturbing, its eyes were tiny and floating in the middle of his eye sockets. He was wrinkled, his wings were torn and his horns were broken and bleeding. He bean making the actions as if he were speaking though no words were heard. This went on for a while until some words like subtitles started appearing along the bottom of the screen. The text was different though, it was deep red and was jerking around the bottom of the screen. The first line of text read, "you left us..." this stayed on screen for a while, and so did the second one. It read "you forgot about us..." at this point his animations of speech started to get angrier and faster, he started shaking his arms and stomping his feet. The further I read into the texts, the more aggressive and violent his actions got. The next texts read as follows "left us to die..." "and we all did..." "even he died..." "you killed us..." These were on the screen for a good amount of time one after another, by the end of this the dragon was flailing around and making horrifying gestures, he was ripping off pieces of his skin, and bleeding all over. At the end of the text, the dragon, still flailing stopped and fell into the portal as they would normally do, although there were no sound effects and no whirl of sparks as usual. The last message played in the middle of a pitch black screen "goodbye" I was warped straight back to the title screen, but spyro wasn't there, neither was the gnorc at the beginning, the logo of spyro the dragon was replaced with "never leave" and last of all the saves had all been changed. Only one remained, it was titled end, it had no percentage marker no dragons an the picture was of a pitch black screen. I selected it and it led me to an open area, the music playing this time was just an endless loop of the two noises at the start of toastys theme once again with moans coming from the background. It was dark covered in dead grass with grey stones scattered all over the place if i counted them they added up to 81, and sure enough, when I walked up to them they had the name of a dragon and in stripped writing "DESERTED" was written. Spyro was there but wasn't colored, he was transparent and seemed to shiver around, water soaked like blood was streaming down his face. After this there was no way out of these place I couldn't bring up the menu or end the game in any way. The console wouldn't turn off as wll, eventually I unplugged the whole TV. To this very day I not completely how it happened, weather dad knew ho to edit games and was pulling some sick joke, or something else weird, but after all that, I try to keep playing a game I start, and never leave anyone on there own. =====
