Vidya Type Thoughts #3

Maybe I'll get all those tangents out of my system, because man the thoughts are bottlenecking...

So, I had a life... Pretty standard. Because I was just born into it, I just blindly assumed it was all normal, and video games were an established thing by then. PC games were popular, but I was too young, and didn't have access to many PC games. Some things I thought were unfair because children are whiny and want stuff the TV and magazines tell them are cool, and richer kids would flaunt their gadgets and toys and make the poor kids feel less-than. Being born into all this, I didn't question any of it. I just wanted to be popular and have lots of stuff, because stuff is what popular and successful people have.

Orwell 1984 has stuff about word deletion.

"It's a beautiful thing, the Destruction of words. Of course the great wastage is in the verbs and adjectives, but there are hundreds of nouns that can be got rid of as well. It isn’t only the synonyms; there are also the antonyms. After all, what justification is there for a word, which is simply the opposite of some other word? A word contains its opposite in itself. Take 'good,' for instance. If you have a word like 'good,’ what need is there for a word like 'bad’? 'Ungood' will do just as well – better, because it’s an exact opposite, which the other is not. Or again, if you want a stronger version of 'good,' what sense is there in having a whole string of vague useless words like 'excellent' and 'splendid' and all the rest of them? 'Plusgood’ covers the meaning or 'doubleplusgood’ if you want something stronger still. Of course we use those forms already, but in the final version of Newspeak there’ll be nothing else. In the end the whole notion of goodness and badness will be covered by only six words – in reality, only one word. Don’t you see the beauty of that, Winston? It was B.B.’s idea originally, of course,” he added as an afterthought” (Orwell 51).

By controlling the language, Big Brother controls the way that the people think. With a limited vocabulary, the people are limited in how much they can think, as well as, what they think about. In another passage, Syme says to Winston, “Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed will be expressed by exactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten.” (Orwell 52). With the people’s inability to commit thoughtcrime, the hope of the party is that, the people will no longer act out in disruptive or subversive behavior. Big Brother will have complete control of the people in every way, right down to their thoughts, and the people will become, essentially, mindless zombies who are willing to worship and do what they are told with no questions asked. They are able to achieve this by also destroying literature and controlling what the people are able to read.

(Oh look, it broke again... Well, decreases the odds of "copyright" issues.) Some things are hard to talk about, because we just don't have the words we need. History can be erased and written on the spot. History textbooks were full of BS, and there's a real conspiracy to keep putting out "new editions" as part of a scam, but also the old books are gathered and burned. Literally burned. Because even though all the content is BS, if you compare old to new, you can see how the curriculum has changed over the years, to push certain agendas incrementally.

We have our instincts. Think back as far back as you can remember. What did you think about the strange people around you? Do you remember the bearded women? Do you remember the teen boys with boobs? How did you feel about the commonplace things and events around you, and the things "adults" and "authorities" pushed on you? What did you like, what did you hate? Why did you feel that way about things?

I was confused, lost, upset a lot. Things in my living situation at the time, themselves a product of this world and the hurts and abuses parents inflict on their own children and the chain continuing, affected my own early life. When someone you have to live with, has turned to substance abuse to cope with their own childhood traumas. The only things I could comprehend as a kindergartener, was simple kiddy media. Basic cartoons, books, stories, video games. Things that were easy, nonthreatening, familiar, comforting, and outlandish. Pokemon had mons that looked like familiar animals, and cool dragons and dinos and other stuff I thought was cool. It had explorable worlds, new things to do. Mario 64 featured crazy acrobatic moves, floating islands, rainbow landscapes, fantasy worlds and fantasy creatures. It was an escape. I couldn't jump like that or go to a magical rainbow land, or go deep diving to a badass sunken ship in a cool lagoon.

In VG, you could meet people who were neon furries, adventurers, friendly pirates, harmless "shady" people who only wanted mundane objects in exchange for other harmless things. IRL, children have to be kept away from sick perverts, drunks, junkies, crazies, and vicious p-zombies who instinctively sniff out real people and want to harm them.

... You know what's a common story type in media, the "evil nasty family of monstrous freaks has a normal child". I think there are some Road Dahl stories about that (but ALL people who get to be published or be a part of industries have to fully submit to the big cult that controls ALL mass media and distribution. They do NOT allow normal people to be a part of it.) Fallout 3 add on "Point Lookout" has a story about some "normal kid" (uh except it's a baffo kid) who was born to a family of swamp mutants, and was an outcast for it. There are several of these stories, but ALL characters, "good" and blatantly evil (in a canned, theatrical portrayal of "evil", not the insidious, sneaky real version of evil) are going to be baffo. Harry Potter series has "muggles" who are still baffo, and the wizard parallel society who are baffo. They Live (film) has baffo "good guys" and baffo villains, with some stupid outer space shit shoehorned in. IRL, there's good people (who can be hermaphrodites, but they reject the cult and become outcasts), and evil people (among whom are evil women who sold out their own kind). Some IRL evil people are just crossdressers that claim to have parts they don't actually have, but if you watch their hands, they'll casually make idle gestures. A handsign that looks like they're holding a pole, signifies they're tuckers. A handsign that's a triangle over the crotch signifies a vagina.

They never tell the whole truth straight up, they always drop one bit of truth into a whole bucket of red herrings and confusion. "Baffle" comes from "baphomet" (notice how baphomet's pallus is the cadeucius of the Medical Industry - doctors are a huge part of this.) And as a confused child, I was BAFFLED by everything. It was all so confusing, and people hated me for no reason. Freaks are so cruel to children, especially normal children. I tried to be kind and generous to my peers, and some of them HATED me for no reason. The kinder and more patient and giving I was, the more they hated me. During my dark times, when I tried to imitate the "popular kids", because obviously being evil and vicious made people popular and successful, they still hated me. I did so much WRONG, and have so many deep regrets. I since apologized to everyone I could, but the people I coudln't apologize to, I still think about them sometimes. I'd tell them how sorry I am, if I ever met them again. There's no justification for that sort of behavior. It's just wrong to continue the cycle, instead of end it.

IDK how to feel about the fact that it's too easy to make comparisons between real life, and computer shit. Feels wrong and dirty, but this world and just about everyone on it, is wrong and dirty. Computers CHEAT. Ever played a fighting game? They pull off impossible combos and their attacks almost never miss. They do a combo in a nanosecond. Fighting games have the most outrageous control schemes. Racing games? Rubberband AI and blatant teleportation. The blue shells ALWAYS hit YOU, the player, but the AI characters can just dodge them. That's cheating. Computers can't think, they can only cheat. P-zombies are the same way. They can't think, they can only cheat and use their numbers.

Why do you think the Bible insists that most "people" are going to burn in hell. When Noah and his family got on the ark, out of aaaaaaalll the people, only EIGHT (8) were saved. BTW, Noah took 7 of bovids and chickens, and today there's a broad variety of bovids and chicken types. Many "animals" that are pushed on us today, are hoaxes or engineered freaks that shouldn't exist. Apes don't exist, but Giraffes should NOT exist. Insane stuff.

A disturbing amount of people desperately cling to fictional characters. You can probably think of several, off the top of your head. The more technology advanced, and the more visually impressive (but not necessarily immersive) interactive media became, the less social and more out-of-touch people became. People came to resent "meatspace" for being full of evil p-zombies, and preferred to retreat into a digital fantasy zone where they're some badass hero with a spaceship and a sword and big guns, and everyone kisses their ass and calls them the "hero of time who saved planet xxhfjkdsh" or some pathetic bullshit like that. Yeah congrats on becoming the Pokemon Champion, all the NPCs will tell $playername how much they admire you. That's it, they don't have any other writing. It's pretty shallow.

I'm not knocking people who like really weird, obscure, bizarre fictional characters, I think that's kinda neat. But they dedicate their whole entire lives and every thought to some drawing or model of a baffo who doesn't exist. I just wonder what they see in them, why'd they imprint on that character, what's the appeal.
